Looking For You
Warlking Simulator - Poetic mourning

Official overview

Looking For You...

You play as a character using a divining rod to find a water source. Using the controller, the rod vibrates more or less intensely depending on the direction you are facing. The stronger the vibration, the closer you are to your goal.

A Journey Through Grief...

With each step you take, a poem unfolds, echoing the experience of grief. Each line symbolizes the path one must follow in order to move forward.
The goal is to find the grave of a loved one for one last time, in order to lay down a bouquet of flowers.

A Poetic Double Meaning

The game focuses on contemplation, on an initiatory walk where, the closer you get to the grave, the more your rod begins to bloom—symbolizing hope. The bright yellow trees stand out against the luminous environment, reflecting the character’s emotions.

My role in this project

  • Narrative Designer
  • Script Writer
  • UI/UX Designer
  • Music Design

This project was created during the Brassart France Game Jam 2026, based on the theme “Vibration.”
Our team was selected as the winner on the Toulouse campus (1st out of 16 projects).

Challenges

  • Designing a game around the theme “Vibration” in just 33 hours
  • Creating a project with a strong identity among 16 competing teams
  • Conveying a rich narrative with minimal exposition

My Contribution

  • Concept and design of the sonar-like divining rod
  • Design of the evolving flower bouquet that grows at each “checkpoint”
  • Full design and implementation of the game’s menus (credits, ending, controller support)
  • Setup and management of the team’s GitHub repository

Design Intentions

  • Transforming the traditional divining rod into a vibrating sonar as the core gameplay mechanic
  • Avoiding strictly linear progression by integrating checkpoints that guide the player
  • Using the environment as a primary storytelling tool (spring and autumn trees, flowers growing on the rod)
  • Creating a cohesive link between vibration, exploration, and poetry
